Ghost, Ghouls, Goblins, and Racists. Don't be one this Halloween.

Hello fellow bae-bees!

Tonight is the ever haunted Hallows Eve, which means the ghouls, ghosts and goblins will be making their way to your doorsteps in less than twenty-four hours! Halloween is the time to get inspired and put that creative knowledge into costumes. Ooh but wait! You are just dying to be the cast of Orange is the New Black, you had it all planned out with your friends and just want it to be “authentic” and use the oh so popular painting of your face. NO! STOOOOOPPPPP!!! Just Don’t. This, ladies and gents and everyone in between, is called cultural appropriation.

For those unaware, cultural appropriation is in a sense, “borrowing” from another culture to use in your own, mostly in a negative way. I know, I know, “you don’t mean it that way”. You have the utmost respect for the entirely awesome women cast of Orange is the New Black, this doesn’t mean you cannot go as these women’s characters for Halloween, but please skip the face paint and just be you, in a costume, which is apparently what Halloween has come to be. Do you want to know if your Halloween is crossing the line of cultural appropriation? Click on the awesome links below and find out more!

Let us know in the comments the costumes you see this Halloween! Send us pictures of your own awesomely not racist costumes too!! Make sure to go and like this page on all the social medias, ya know, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and all that jazz!! Be safe and have a Happy Halloween!!
