Fall Trends To Love: Bootie Call by Erin Richards-Kunkel

7:13:00 PM

Last season ankle boots (or booties) were all the rage, adding a bit of luxe to our skinny jeans and coats brought out for fall. This season, ankle boots, booties, and shoeties (ankle boot pumps) have expanded with new styles, trends and are more in demand than ever.

Booties are a great addition to a fall wardrobe because they can complement our favorite fall staples: skinny jeans and straight-leg pants, tights and leggings with skirts and dresses or oversized sweaters.

This season’s ankle boots are taking trends and raising them to the next level. Think metallic accents, rich jewel-colored tones, cut outs and of course, edgy motorcycle booties with studs, straps and hardware.

So which booties are on your fall must-have list?

  1. Ah! I'm such a sucker for booties. Don't get me wrong, I love a good (tall) boot, but booties have always been much more of my thing. I find them quite edgy, which of course, I love. I'm quite short, but I do like my legs, think they're pretty darn nice, so I like wearing booties with a heel to kinda showcase and accentuate them. I have two pairs that I looove. The first is a black cuffed bootie by Bakers (2008 or 2009, I forget). I like this one cuz of the cuff, but it also has a lot of fun details like covered buttons going down the edge which remind a bit of something victorian, and the lining of the cuff is a grey and blue plaid. So a lot going on but they all come together quite nicely. The other is another black bootie, in some ways more "simple" in that there's not buttons or plaid or other print/color, making it super versatile. What makes this one real fun though is that the cuff is really wide and slouchy, makes your legs look long and fit. This bootie is from Steve Madden (2010).
